Pearl
Buying Guide |
| by Renee Newman |
|
Reviewer: Princess Pearls from Bradenton, Florida
A great book for those shopping for pearls!
This book is a great source for information on pearls and a necessity
for those who are wishing to buy pearls. This will save you money as
it teaches you how to determine value. It is a wonderful sequel to the
2nd edition. It discusses all types of pearls, pearl care, pearl quality,
pearl value, and includes a quiz after most chapters. It discusses specific
types of pearls like Misaki and Mikura as well as general types like
black, mabe, akoya, cultured, and natural pearls. This book should definitely be bought...

Spectacular photography!
I don't know what impressed me more, the spectacular photography or
the effortless and fascinating way Fred Ward helped me understand pearls.
He takes the mystery out of buying pearls. I will not buy pearls again
without reviewing this book...

Black
Pearls of Tahiti |
| by Jean-Paul Lintilhac |
|
Beautifully illustrated book, many color photographs. Cover is slightly
shelf worn, text is clean and intact. This book should be of interest
to all those who love pearls for their beauty, those who are potential
buyers and owners, and those who are professional dealers in pearl jewelry.
The book tells all you need to know about the black pearls of Polynesia:
Their history, How they are produced, their characteristics, How to evaluate
pearls for beauty and price, and How pearls are used as jewelry. Photographs
by Alain Durand. If Amazon doesn't have the book, we can find it for
you.

Road Tahiti & French Polynesia Guide
(Tahiti and French
Polynesia Guide, 3rd Ed) |
| by Jan Prince |
| This is an excellent
book written by someone who lives in Tahiti. All the details of
the hotels, activities and food. The other guide books are good
but this one gives the most practical information. Read it before
you go and use it to plan your island trip, and do not forget to
take it with you.
